One of the many things that made me give up with trying to fit in with antishippers in the Sonic fandom was people attacking Shadow and Amy as a "proship". I fear that if they can justify something so completely innocuous as a red flag, there isn't any room to breathe any more.
It seems to me that the same nonsense fighting over which ships we like has suddenly become an arms-race to be the most righteous. At which point there is no fun left to be had because to someone everything can be problematic. Even a classic raincloud/sunshine, pastel goth aesthetic pair? What is there left to like for people who enjoy shipping?
I don't even really care for Shadow and Amy as a romantic pair, but I guess now I'm a stan. Or a stan of the stans, maybe.
