Question For Marvel Fans Regarding Bucky's Prosthetic Arm
I have a question about whether Bucky always sleeps with his prosthetic arm on or not. Please see reasoning below.
Does Bucky always sleep with his prosthetic on? Because I know that people who have prosthetics irl don't sleep with them. Mainly because they're uncomfortable and you don't really need them to sleep, and oftentimes it's easier for them to navigate their home without them, depending on the kind of injury and how long they've had to adjust. Not just to the injury, but also how long they've had to adjust their living space.
But Bucky's arm is different, because it sort of just latches onto the panel thing at his shoulder. I don't know what it's actually called, I'm neck deep in finals, and I don't have the will to look it up atm.
I think we see him sleeping with it on in the show, but I don't know if we do in the newer movies.
My first instinct is to say he doesn't, but the logic behind that is based on real world prosthetics. Which, while they've made leaps and bounds of progress, are oftentimes cumbersome and uncomfortable for the people who wear them.
And obviously we know that Wakanda makes amazing tech, so it's likely that their prosthetics are lightyears ahead of the ones I'm thinking of.
Plus, when you take into account his past as a veteran of multiple wars, brainwashing, and all of the other things he's gotten into, it would make sense if sleeping with it on helped with his hypervigilance and any trauma responses he has.
I just wondered if there was definitive evidence one way or another. Mostly because I'm writing a fic and want to be accurate, but also just out of curiosity.
