Season 666* 

American Horror Story kill it (literally) every year when it comes to outstanding Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics. From perfectly period hairpieces to creepily creative clown prosthetics they really do come up with some iconic characters. Season 6 seems set to be the same with AHS sending out cryptically creepy adverts all featuring characters from classic Horror Stories, this Frankenstein one in particular caught my eye as even for a poster the AHS Make-up and Prosthetics team create something phenomenal! I cant wait to see what this season has in store.

Double Take*

AHS Freakshow had to be one of my favourite AHS, watching it alongside writing my dissertation on The Freakshow History ‘Freakshow’ was the perfect match or mismatch you could say of drama, horror, comedy and Make-up FX. In the recent interview above Justin Raleigh the owner of Fractured FX discusses the multiple Make-up & Prosthetics created for the show, from conjoined twins, lobster fingers, clown jaws and parasitic twins Justin explains in depth the processes and methods used to created the carnivalesque characters. What is most interesting to read is how VFX and SFX really came together and colloborated on the project, creating a FX hybrid perfect for AHS Freakshow. The short video gives a great insight into what really goes on behind the scenes of a FX workshop.
