Dental lab work! Well I have got to say there’s a lot that goes on behind the curtains in the world of dentistry. And all the praises for our dental technicians, dentists etc. Each and every step in providing the best available prosthesis or treatment takes a lot of effort from the team. Because man getting every thing done with perfection and accuracy is quite a talent and hard work all together. It takes hours to work on a case while in the labs from every little steps starting from pouring your impressions to curing your acrylic each steps requires great precision, accuracy , dedication and stamina. . . . This is a picture of my flask before I put it up for the step of curing. We are into our prosthodontics rotation. Our school requires us to do four complete / complex partial denture cases during our rotation. Including impression taking and all the lab work that goes into a denture fabrication. Thanks to all the dental tech staff as well who have been a great support to us in the labs and have helped us learn a lot. . . . We have a student specified area in the hospital for clinicals . We attend two lectures in the morning head to our clinics. Get demos from our supervisors regarding clinical work and than till 3 we do our clinical work on real patients. ( since it’s our final year ) . . . There was a time I was actually scared of taking an impression,a secondary impression and green stick and last but not the least curing. I literally found these steps haunting at a time. But with time the more I did it the more I got smooth with these. It’s all about practising and hardwork. You have got to keep working on it. Never stop and think that you’re a good enough and also never think you can’t do it. Both thoughts are more or less debilitating.
