Will Solace is so protective of Nico he discovered not one, not two, but THREE of his hidden powers only to protect him.

Like. This is just very insane to me. His protectiveness over Nico is so strong and so intrinsic that it unlocked inner parts of him that he had no idea existed, and in some cases parts of him he probably unconsciously kept away.

And it’s crazy that people undermine this protectiveness, because it’s genuinely such a consistent main trait in Will.

Nico returns from an unauthorized solo mission with smoking scars, seven shadow-jumps under his belt, and the audacity to say “I’m fine.” Will Solace, meanwhile, is not fine. The healing cabin descends into chaos as Will goes full wrath-of-Apollo, patients start praying for their lives, and one poor demigod genuinely fears divine smiting. Nico flirts. Will threatens. There's yelling, a kiss, and a whole lot of blankets.

Jack cocked an eyebrow, apparently deeming no response necessary.   “Get over here.”   Will’s voice was sharp and cutting. The crowd around him was silent, shocked at the tone. Few had seen this side of him. He preferred to keep a sunny demeanor around camp, and was more stern than anything in the infirmary. If you asked Will later why he reacted the way he did, he’d tell you that he acted on pure instinct. Which was odd considering he didn’t fight. What he did was lunge, he lunged at the dark shape, grabbed it, and pressed it to the wall. ~ A little extract for you <3 basicaly, in the series everyone treats Nico like trash, and now Will is getting his revenge ~ Characters by Rick Riordan!

Nico dreamed of a solar eclipse and woke to the sound of chaos, head throbbing and something sticky trickling past the corner of his eye. or, Spring break brings most demigods back to camp. Nyx is counting on that. If she can't keep Nico's darkness, she'll have to stamp out the remaining light.

I know i sound like a broken cd but protective Will Solace is really taking over my thoughts today…

And like. It’s so important to me especially in relation to Nico!!

Nico, who since Bianca had no one to take care of him, who had to watch his own back constantly, who had to feel alone, to feel worthless, for years and years. And then came Will, someone who went to hell for him, someone who unlocked hidden parts of himself for him, someone whom he knows would take care of him no matter what. Will is someone Nico knows he can trust to hold and protect him when he needs him. And that’s just really important and beautiful to me😞

I’ve been on this knight Will x prince Nico kick lately and it’s such good soup ugh💔💔

No explanations needed for prince Nico, he is already a prince, canonically.

But knight Will is such a glorious concept like hear me out hear me out. He’s absolutely not a knight in the violent sense. Hell, he doesn’t even have a sword with him. He’s a knight in the devotion sense (which is something we canonically see from him!! He IS devoted to Nico), in the protective sense. Nico can fight for himself, but that doesn’t mean he can also always… protect? himself. Will’s the shield (and by that I also mean his “weapon” is this like massive heavy shield), he makes sure Nico doesn’t get hurt, and when he does get hurt he’s there to heal him, to defend him from pain and sickness🤔🤔🤔

Also it gives room for so many peak moments like… pre-solangelo Will hearing Nico’s nightmares as he’s guarding outside his door, and not being able to do anything about it. Will watching Nico with his suitors and after trying to keep his jealousy for himself for a while he just bursts and tells Nico those men aren’t even worthy enough to bow at his feet, let alone have his hand. Nico searching for Will after he had a nightmare and telling him no matter in how much luxury he’s living in, how his clothes are made from the purest silk or the most expensive wool, how much gold the crown owns, nothing will ever bring him as much comfort as Will’s touch.
