DO you suffer from DRY/or DAMAGED hair? This is usually caused for various reasons (i.e chemical damage from perms, color and bleach, changes and damages from the sun, cold weather climate, mechanical damage from curling irons and blowdryers). Moisturizing shampoo, conditioner and treatments often is a great deal of help. But here are 5 tips of what you SHOULD NOT do if you are a sufferer. If you aren’t doing things on this list then great! Otherwise ppl please refrain. Your hair will thank you for it ;) : Seasons change therefore Hair maintenance should change as the season changes! Especially for the winter!!!
1. For people who spend lots of time in the sunlight (not only should you protect your skin) SPF50 use a hair sunscreen or opt for a hat ;)
2. Do NOT, I repeat do not use mouse. ( ALot of mouse contain alcohol (drying agent))
3. Dry hair sufferers should never OVER WASH their hair. Over-washing (i.e daily) often causes the natural oils (sebum) necessary for conditioning the hair shaft to strip away, leaving the hair even more dry, brittle and subject to more breakage. 0_o. When you are washing your hair try not to blow dry (air drying will help) but if you necessarily have to then make sure the nozzle is connected and try a lower temp setting (always blow-drying in a downward motion never Blowdry up or upside down)
4. Beach go-ers and swimmers.. You can have summer-time fun without the stress chlorine and beach water can have on those strands :( try a swimmer’s cap or (if not) a trick ive learned is to apply conditioner or treatment on your hair before taking a dip. (the conditioner will act as a coating to protect your cuticle)
5. Try steering away from chemical services (i.e relaxers, perms, straightening treatments and etc)
6. Deep treatments are perfect for your mane this time of year! ( Pampering doesn't hurt) AT-home treatments work just as great!
