Why should I save water?
The objective of the story was to emphasize not using too much water. A child tried to get his neighbors to start saving water responsibly so that it would not disappear.
To be a story for children, for me it does address the issue of conserving water, trying to get more people to do it because of the consequences that can happen when we abuse water and believe that this resource is unlimited.
The author wants to make children aware that by playing with water it can be wasted and cause there to be no more. Although this is something for children, it has a clear objective for older people and wants to help implement the examples given in history for everyone.
The protagonist is interested in "turning the tap off when brushing teeth" which is a quicker tip to stop wasting water and he says it as a comment to his neighbors but they ignored it, but later they themselves began to implement it.
After having analyzed the story, it has a good basis to help people who read it understand the importance of water.
In a village, there lived a kid who had always said “Water is very important”. He saved lots of water when he was using it. Many years later, people started to waste water but the kid didn’t. He tried to tell everyone to take care of water but they didn’t care. Then an idea struck him. He showed people responsible ways of saving water like turning the tap off when brushing teeth. Still the people didn’t care. A month later, on a cold frosty morning, the people of the village woke up and discovered that there was no water! They had nothing to drink, to wash and clean. People were very scared and worried so they approached that kid again. The kid explained and reminded them that water was so important that people needed to look after it. Having no water for their daily activities convinced the people on what the kid has always tried to teach them. The nest day little water appeared and as month went by, the volume of water in the village also increased. Then everyone shouted in joy “That’s why water is so important and we should save water”. Travellers passing by the village also heard the commotion and as they approached the villagers, they too were convinced on the importance of water.

Saving Water, Saving Lives
Water is something necessary for our daily lives, today there are still problems with countries that do not have this basic service. And this is not fair, there are people who use water poorly and do not know how to take advantage of it.
The essay deals with an opinion that water is life and fundamentally something irreplaceable. Some countries have this right unlimitedly, obviously you pay for it later but you can use the water as many times as you want without getting tired, if they want they can fill pools and empty them as many times as they want, but this is not possible in some countries where water only serves to drink 2 glasses per day. "imagine living without it"
The author wants to emphasize that by not having water and less drinking water, these people are more likely to have diseases, something that does not happen to us because we do have drinking water. She says that 17% of the world does not have drinking water and she wants to imply that we use this water that we have responsibly, thinking empathetically with others.
She starts to say that you can save water easily. Starting to not use them in an exaggerated way such as washing cars or contaminating it and stopping it from filling with bugs, it is preferable to give it to people on the street or use it for bathrooms, reusing the water but not wasting it.
To conclude, let's think that not all of us have the same opportunities regarding water, we can shower several times a day and people do not achieve this and can barely drink water during the day.
ESSAY
Water is a basic necessity of life, and it may seem inconceivable to imagine living without it. But the stark reality is that many people around the world do. The availability of fresh water for drinking is scarce and sanitation poses an urgent and challenging problem, particularly in many developing countries.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported in March 2010 that over 2.6 billion people, or about 39 per cent of the world's population, live without improved sanitation facilities; in other words, without a proper latrine. Furthermore, WHO estimated that about 1.1 billion people across the globe -- approximately 17 percent of the world's population -- lacked access to safe and improved sources of drinking water.

Short poem
Water is a much-needed source in recent years. The present poem helps us reflect that water is still with us and we let go of the fact that one day, by not taking care of the water, it will no longer be with us. and we would like to go back in time to have it again without worrying.
The poem emphasizes that at this moment we are happy and we are not worried about anything with water, because you know that we still have it. There are 2 contrasts where one talks about where the water comes from and the other is where the water is, seeing that there was one curious about where it comes from and the other is where it left.
The author wants to make people aware of extending the life of water with humans, like having water everywhere and not having it anymore, in a scarce way. For me, giving real examples such as water in the pool and it does not necessarily have to be there and can be used in other things makes it seem that we waste water.
Some ways to save water are not to waste it on insignificant things like swimming pools when no one uses it, not to play with water, learn our limits when drinking water, and use rainwater for many things. No one can know when water is no longer part of our lives.
To conclude, Water is not an unlimited resource, one day it will no longer be with us and this can be postponed if we know how to save the daily use of water.
Turn on the tap
and the water flows.
Does anyone know
where the water goes?
Turn on the tap
and the water comes.
Does anyone know
Where the water’s from?
water is clean
and water is cool,
living in rivers
and raining in pools.
Yet water can trickle
and wells can dry up
till there’s nothing left
to fill the cup.
Today there is water
when we turn the tap on.
But what will we do
when the water is gone?

Could not protecting water hurt us humans?
All around the world, there are nature’s treasures. Treasures that are unique and full of resources. One of them being water. Think of the Everglades for example.
“Today Everglades is one word and yet plural. They are the only Everglades in the world.”
Yet, it is important to note that these treasure are being endangered, in particular, fresh water. Our planet is a water planet, but we should think of it as a limited water planet.
“About 97.5 percent of Earth's water is salt water. The remaining 2.5 percent is freshwater, most of which is frozen in ice and snow.”
So in reality, our planet has little freshwater, and the little that is available is not being respected or protected.
“Most freshwater on the planet is frozen and not accessible for us to use.”
This creates problems for areas with a limited amount of water. Take California for example. Two-thirds of state uses 80 percent of the water demand. To meet the demand, tunnels and canals are used in order to transport the water to cities and farmland in the south part of the state.
Without water, farmland cannot thrive and produce.
Without water, cities can’t remain sanitary and provide a basic necessity of life.
However, the northern part of the state is suffering. Ecosystems of salmon and smelt are feeling the lack of water. To counteract, there have been cutbacks in water movement to help save the species. However, this hurts farmers.
As you can see, the issue of water scarcity is a problem that affects everyone, directly or indirectly.
As the need of freshwater arises, more resources are being depleted and endangered. Aquifers are being pumped nonstop, to rate of them being unable to recharge.
The problem is called “The Tragedy of the Common.” Basically, when an aquifer is found to have groundwater, the first person takes as much water as he or she desires. Then, a second person comes and continues the process. A third person finds out, and nobody seems to focus on preserving the aquifer but instead focus on getting a much water for themselves.
When no one steps up and takes responsibility more negative results occur. As aquifer depletion occurs, subsidence may occur. This refers to land sinking. When this sinking occurs, another problem occurs.
When sinking occurs near coastal areas, saltwater can be mixed with fresh water. If this happens, groundwater is lost and is now saltwater. The end result is a decrease of usable groundwater near the coastal areas.
Water is not only being over-pumped, it is also being polluted. The rivers and streams that once were clear are being dumped with chemical waste, fertilizers, and industrial spills.
People thought that water diluted harmful substances. But that was incorrect.
Once water becomes polluted, more problems happen. The chemicals that enter the water are known to be cumulative. This means that once they enter the food chain, the negative reactions continue.
For example, a small animal consumes the chemicals in the water. Then, this small animal is consumed by a larger animal. The larger animal is consumed by humans. Humans then have health issues that arise from the consumed chemicals.
As you can see, not protecting our freshwater is going to cause a cycle of problems if we decide to do nothing at all.
