Some protorohippuses around town! This early horse was found in this little town (I mean…they find a lot of fossils here, just, this is probably the coolest)

Now it’s in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History!

This illustration shows the earliest known species of bat, Icaronycteris from the Green River Formation. Other animals in the scene include Borealosuchus, a species of crocodile, Protorohippus venticolum, a dog-sized early horse, and an unidentified fly that was found pressed into limestone.
