Protoshares Wallet Upgrade

There is some confusion about the new Protoshares wallet. After some reading, I think I can distill the changes into some easily digestible facts:

The name is changing from Protoshares to Bitshares-PTS for legal reasons.

The new OS X client can be downloaded here. It's safe to download it and copy it to your Applications folder, but don't open it yet.

Open your old Protoshares client and backup your wallet to the desktop. Name it wallet.dat.

Now launch the new Bitshares-PTS wallet. When it launches, it will create the directory structure inside ~/Library/Application Support/Bitshares-PTS

Quit the BitShares-PTS Application now that you have your needed directory.

cd into that directory from the command line ( cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/BitShares-PTS/ )  and rename the wallet.dat to wallet.dat.old (mv ./wallet.dat ./wallet.dat.old ) The backslash that you see needs to be there to escape the space in the directory name.

Now copy your wallet.dat file from the Desktop into this directory ( cp ~/Desktop/wallet.dat ./ )

Launch your Bitshares-PTS Application and you should have your original PTS address under the addresses tab. If you don't, do not panic. During this process, we did not delete any files.

My Bitshares-PTS wallet went through the process of showing unconfirmed and confirmed balances for the next 30 minutes until everything was back in sync. Just an FYI so you don't freak out while this is going on.

Da var ventetiden snart over, Keyhotee slippes i begynnelsen av Januar, Memorycoin 2.0 er sluppet å miningen pågår for fullt.

The interesting case of Protoshares

Protoshares is an Ecoin that is directly tied to the value of the work being performed by the computers in the peer to peer network.  Computers that are mining for the Ecoin and processing transactions for the Ecoin are entitled to a proportional amount of the value derived from these activities.  Protoshares are actually the precursor to Bitshares which will be the ‘stock’ in a Distributed Autonomous Corporation (DAC).  The DAC is a peer to peer cloud computing company that in a sense is for hire.  The owners of the DAC are the holders of the Ecoin associated with the DAC.  For this initial DAC, the company that is launching it, is trading Protoshares for other Ecoins to provide seed capital to build the DAC.  The initial DAC is being developed by a company called Invictus Innovations Incorporated.

The DAC is conceived to be be a flexible peer to peer network for hire. For most other Ecoins, the mining computers only mine for the Ecoin and/or process transfers of the Ecoin.  The vision of the DAC is compensate the holders of the Ecoin proportionally to their coin holding for the mining, processing and other tasks being performed by the network.  Anyone may acquire shares in the DAC by mining or trading for Photoshares now and Bitshares later.

Once the company launches the DAC, the Protoshare holders will exchange their Protoshares for shares of the DAC called Bitshares.  The value of the Bishares is backed by the processing work of the DAC network computers.  Some of these services could include payment processing, asset trading, domain name services (DomainShares), and in the future any service that benefits from peer to peer network computing.  It is possible that in the future a DAC could operate like a cloud computing solution like Amazon Web Services and become a very strong wealth generator.

Ifølge denne kilden (link!) kommer første mynten som du som eier av Protoshares vil få en andel av fra start. Denne mynten er versjon 2.0 av MemoryCoin.

Prisendringer. Update 9 desember.

Har vært litt fraværende i det siste siden det er fullt kjør på jobb. 

Prisen på Protoshares har nå stabilisert seg på rundt 100 kr (+) pr stk. 

Prisen akkurat nå ligger på 124.58 kroner ifølge http://coinmarketcap.com/

Julen begynner å nærme seg som også vil si at ett nytt år står for tur. 

Det nye året vil bringe med seg Keyhotee og Bitshares noe som kommer til å øke prisen per Protoshare etter hva jeg ser. (Dette er selvfølgelig ren spekulasjon, i dette markedet er det umulig å si at noe er sikre penger.)

Protoshares vil som også nevnt tidligere gi deg en andel av alle fremtidige Bitshares produsert av Invictus Innovations så mitt tips er å holde samt anskaffe så mange Protoshares som mulig.
