As the US launch of my memoir DRIVEN continues, we are adding two new dates: Miami on April 30th ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, and Montreal on May 21st ahead of the Montreal Grand Prix.

These venues are bigger and I am sorry to everyone who couldn’t get tickets in NY… we didn’t even make it past pre-sale before they sold out… 😬

Writing this book with my brother meant looking back at every turn and every hurdle. These evenings are a chance to go deeper into those stories — the highs, the setbacks and everything in between — and to share them with you in person.

My father's funeral is in one week

My son needed his social security card for a new summer job, so I went into my safe to find it. As fate would have it, while looking for that I found a few handwritten letters from my father to me that I kept. I would not have seen these before the funeral otherwise.

Dad wasn't much for saying emotional things out loud (much like me) so he would give his children handwritten notes instead. Here is what he wrote to me on November 13, 2004 (in part):

". . . I realized it was time to write to you and tell you what a great son you are. Among our four progeny, you stand out. Not only because of your material successes but who you are. We admire your values such as your commitment to your wife and children as well as your concern for us in our old age."

Thanks Dad, I will do my best to carry on your legacy and continue to make you proud.

I always loved Kurt and Burt’s relationship. Kurt surely is my favorite character but his father? A very close one. The suffered a lot in their lives but their love never faded away. I choose this song not only because I like it but because it’s called “Elizabeth” and we all know how important this name is for both the Hummel boys

Adam and Kelly -

Adam: "How did we get here?  We took a taxi yeah but how did we get here, in the bigger picture. One moment that I can think of that was a recent, where I can think like holy shit I can't believe what my mom did that, was when I was at the Olympics and people were asking me what my other siblings did and where they went to school, and everything.  I was thinking okay I'm at the Olympics, my mom has another son in law school, she has another son who's getting a master's degree in biostatistics in Colombia, she has another daughter in college, another daughter that just started college and a another son that wants to go and study animation in a year.  I'm like oh my god, that's crazy.

I just remember my mom when I was young telling me a bunch of things and then when I got a little older and I started applying it because I thought it was like my own ideas. I thought, I was a genius. I realized that it was all of these things that my mom had told me ever since I was young that I was using when I actually applied what my mom was saying.  I think that's when I saw my greatest potential."
