🌾 Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them

Emmeline is without a doubt the sweetest person in all of Hogwarts. Every single thing she does is to make life easier and brighter for someone else. It’s just her instinct to be kind. And that’s incredible, because being kind could easily mean she’s always nice - but she’s not. Somehow, even though she’s constantly worrying about what other people think of her, and that she may not be smart enough or cool enough or funny enough, she always looks to do what’s right instead of what’s nice. She stands up for her friends even when the whole school is against them. She stands up to bullies even when she knows she doesn’t have a chance, even though she’s scared as anything. She’s humble and hardworking and shy but still so incredibly funny and talented. But above all, despite everything she’s been through, she’s consistently and amazingly good.

Oof, “main” OC’s is a tough question. I’m actively working on four OC’s.

Katherine Moore for Supernatural (Gospel of the Chosen)

Emmeline Marsh for Harry Potter (Provenance)

Rebecca Whalen for Criminal Minds (Broken Edges)

There are other OC’s I still think about frequently, or have established, like Sadie or Thea. But at the moment, these are the four I’m working on!

How is your little badger princess? I miss Emmeline and will you add more to her?

Aw man, I love Emmeline. She’s doing well! Even between two jobs and the OC challenge, I’ve been able to write a page or two for her this week. Currently she’s home for her first Christmas break, and trying to make the most of her time at home. It’s a little bittersweet, because as much as she loves Hogwarts, she’s sort of dreading going back. She’s having some trouble making friends.

C: What character do you identify with most?

Oh, why pretend that Sadie isn’t me at this point? 

Sadie has grown with me, and whether I planned it or not, has gone through my experiences. There was a time in Right Beside You when Sadie was going through a pretty deep depression, which completely reflected my own, and it was something I had plotted long before I knew I was going to be going through it myself. She’s my darling, and I really hope to continue growing with her in the future.

X: A character you enjoy making suffer.

Oof, it is truly nice making all of my characters suffer. Who do I enjoy torturing the most? Lately I’ve been focusing on torturing Kat, who definitely has to go through some pretty tough shit. Like, a whole new level of suffering for me, which of course, makes me feel like an evil plot queen. I love her, of course, but also every loss that she suffers brings her closer to the Winchesters, who are really kings of suffering after all they’ve gone through. So the more she suffers, the more of a warrior she becomes, and the more reason she has to fight, which is awesome. She fights to keep her right to be broken.

Y: A character you want to protect.

Oh, who else have I made suffer? I guess I’ll put Emmeline here. I love Emmeline, because she’s so pure and devoted. Also, a significant portion of the suffering she goes through wasn’t my choice - it was just plot. So there’s a real desire to protect her from the things I’m going to force her to go through. She’s really just a kid, and much like Harry, life sort of happens to her in a way you wouldn’t expect her to survive.

I already apologized to Leela, but I guess I put Emmeline through a fair amount of torture this year too. Nothing compared to what’s coming for her, but stressful nonetheless. Emmeline, I’m sorry I killed your parents and made you grow up without any friends in the middle of nowhere, thus giving you no social skills and sending you into culture shock when it was time for you to go to school. I’m sorry for giving you crippling social anxiety, and making it so hard for you to succeed in school. Also for making Snape terrorize you. That will continue, and things will get worse on the whole. Sorry in advance. 😘

Will you have other HP ocs after Emmeline?

I mean, along with Emmeline comes her father, Gareth Marsh, and her mother, Lynette Stillwell. I have the majority of their romance plotted out for background purposes, and maybe, some day a short little background story. There’s also Crystal Potter, who was the first OC I ever made, back when I was like 8 and had no concept of what an OC was. I don’t think I’ll write her story, because there’s so many Potter sisters out there to be written about, but she’s important to me nevertheless.
