Proverbs 16:1 NLT
The preparations of the heart in man, And the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
Proverbs 16:1 KJV
Here is a ink to a printable colorig page for the Bible verse Proverbs 16:1. it is a good way to mediate on God’s word.
Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
“Fix me” is an archaic, and possibly southern, phrase meaning “prepare me”. To request for some to prepare a drink, one would say, “please fix me a drink.” In this spiritual, “fix me” is used as a request that God would prepare the soul for a “long, white robe”, a “starry crown”, a “dying bed”, and the “journey home”.
It is lyrically similar to another spiritual entitled, “Search My Heart”.
The dance in this presentation is magnificence full of reverence.
"We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer."
- Proverbs 16:1
You have made the way, and it is up to me to walk in it. All of the means You have provided will do me no good, unless I am willing to do my part. I cannot do well in battle if my armor is rusting under the bed...

PRAISE HIM FOR PREPARING US
“The preparation of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.” —Proverbs 16:1
Oh God, My Provider,
You will not leave me defenseless. You have made a way for me to be ready for any calamity that may come into my life.
First of all, You have told me that you prepare my heart. When I am seeking You, my heart is ready for any test You allow.
You have also provided "instruments of use" to me as I encounter spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:11-12). You have given me “truth” with which I can gird my loins. “Righteousness” will act as a breastplate. My “army boots” are the preparation of the gospel of peace. “Faith” is my shield, and is able to repel every single dart that the wicked one may hurl my way. “Salvation” is my helmet, and “Your Word” is my sword, anointed by Your Spirit (Ephesians 6:14-17).
In addition to the preparation of my heart and Your armor, You have instructed me to pray at all times with humility and earnestness in the Spirit. you have told me to watch with complete perseverance and intercede for all saints, and for myself, that I may be a bold witness of the power of Your might (Ephesians 6:18-20).
You have offered me the opportunity to be prepared. The preparation is a cooperative effort. You have made the way, and it is up to me to walk in it. All of the means You have provided will do me no good, unless I am willing to do my part. I cannot do well in battle if my armor is rusting under the bed.
