Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

"It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps." (MSG)

"Two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do. Suppose either of them falls down. Then the one can help the other one up." (NIRV)

Mountain climbers rarely climb alone and divers have a “buddy system”, so that if one gets in trouble the other can have their back. We all need someone to have our back. Sometimes in life, it may feel like people let us down. Look at Jesus, He let Judas Iscariot into His inner cycle, counted him as one of His closest friends, all the while knowing that Judas would betray Him. How that must have hurt! Jesus knows what it feels like to be let down! Even our family and best friends may not always be there for us. Jesus will never, ever, EVER, not be there for us. He is our 24/7 mountain climbing companion and diving buddy, always there to watch out for us. When we need help and cry out to Him, He will comfort us, help us and be 100% totally reliable. As Proverbs 18:24 says: “Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family. ”(MSG); “There is a [true, loving] friend who [is reliable and] sticks closer than a brother.” (AMP) That true, loving friend is Jesus. We may be blessed by good friends, there may be times when we feel let down and friendless. Friends may come and go, but we are never friendless, when we have Jesus. PRAYER: Thank You Jesus, for being our ever faithful friend, who always sticks by us. May we always stick by You too. Amen.
