Home I moved last month, and change is hard for me, but after making my “Stay or Go” list it was obvious that it would be best to make the change. I wouldn’t recommend deciding-and-moving in four days. Especially, when you’re not planning to move, and while you’re working full time. Another thing, I wouldn’t move in the month of December. It causes added stress, and impacts your finances. Also, give your friends an opportunity to help you, or some will get irritated that they weren’t part of your change. Plus, it’s dark and wet which doesn’t help when it takes you a bit to feel comfortable. You will, feel comfortable, but it might take a minute. Eventually, the furniture was placed, and then rearranged. The dishes were stacked. The shampoo was put on the shower rack. The bed was made, and I waited for peace. The dog’s schedule was adjusted. My neighborhood’s rhythm was becoming my new background white-noise, and I waited for the comfort that comes from “home” and as my home started filling with the laughter of my friends my heart started settling. Then it happened. As I emptied a box, I found some rocks that my grands and I painted last summer when they visited my home. I noticed that as I took them out and placed them on the railing, I exhaled—I’m home. It’s the details in life where I find my God. Waiting. Ready for me to catch up with his plan. Thankfully, it only took a month. I give him my home. It’s his to do as He wishes. Lord, let those that enter feel you. Let them smell your fragrance and let their souls find what they’re looking for—as I did in the reminder of snuggle-hugs, stories, and a weekend of giggles represented by a handful of pebbles. #proverbs24:3/4 (at Gearhart, Oregon)
