In the alternative universe fan-fic in my head, team RWBY (+Penny here) are a competitive dance troupe led by Yang’s estranged mom, Raven, a former professional dancer herself, now reluctantly managing the girls and showing them the ropes. This little bit of dialogue is my invented explanation for why Ruby is dancing with her weapon but nobody else (save Yang) is: Weiss: Ruby, put Crescent Rose away, we're doing this dance number! Ruby: [defiantly] Never! Weiss: I put my sword away in its case...*reaches toward Ruby* Ruby: *slaps away Weiss's hand* [mock seriousness] ...from my cold dead hands.... Weiss: *smirks, grabs Ruby's hands* Ruby: *shrieks* [whimpers]...so cold, so cold... Raven: *annoyed* QUIT SCREWING AROUND AND GET ON STAGE! PRWBY: Yes Ma'am!
