The Philippine Readers and Writers Festival 2019 ft. Writing Tips
Extremely happy to attend The Philippine Readers and Writers Festival this year. The festival has taught me a lot of things and made me realize that I'm on the right path. I found the right reasons to continue writing and to never stop believing that I can do it. I've listened and met different writers and most of them inspired me to write more and more. I've also met some strangers who became friends.
Thank you to all the writers who shared their knowledge in writing and for taking the time to share a tip on my vlog.

“Get the first draft done and then just write, don’t edit yet while you’re writing... Do not pass on first drafts. When I write something, I want to be understood so it’s not about big words... for me it’s simplicity. You’d be surprised how wonderful and how powerful simplicity is in style to get your message across.. Keep writing, always write.”
“Read as much as I can. Write as much as I can. Live as much as I can.”
“Read the kind of writing you wanna do, that’s how yo enrich yourself as a writer... Just be confident and never stop writing, you have to keep writing because that’s how you keep better. It’s a muscle so you need to exercise it.”

Finding Your Bliss: Growing and Engaging with Your Audience
“Write from your heart, doon kasi nag-start yung passion pag gusto mo yung ginagawa mo, magugustuhan din ng mga readers mo.”
“Keep on dreaming, if your dream is to become a writer, keep on writing and stay true to your dream. Work hard, study grammar, take advantage on your grammar lessons in school don’t think it’s a waste of time, you need it.”
“Keep on writing, wag niyo isipin yung mga audience, isipin niyo muna yung sarili niyo. Dadami din yan, marami ding magtitiwala so tiwala lang din sa sariling gawa.”

What About Love?: Contemporary Romance Writing
“Just keep on writing... A bad first draft is better that a blank page and a bad first draft is a good start. So sulat ka lang ng sulat, may matitisod ka ding gold.”
“Keep writing, it may not always be your time... your time will definitely come so keep writing. If it gets rejected, don’t throw it away or put it in the trash. Let it incubate... patulugin niyo muna siya for a while and when you evolve as a person, come back and then review and turn it as evolved as you.. no matter how long it takes.”
“Never lose hope. Just keep writing. Keep revising.”
Marketing Rescue: A Free Marketing Q&A with Record-breaking, Bestselling Author and Marketing Guru with Josiah Go
“ If you’re a first time writer.. just keep on doing bullet points and don’t write because that’s gonna be harder for you as you move on and it gets longer and longer that you have to backread but if you keep on doing bullet points, you only write it when you’re ready to go.”
Once More with Feeling: How to Write On-Trend and Relevant Content for the Millennial
“Pag feeling good talaga ako, yung sobrang inspired ako magsulat, yung feeling kong walang bad vibes ang pwedeng makapasok, yun yung time na nag-write ako. When you feel good and you feel positive and you write nag-rereflect siya sa writing so nakaka-write ka ng positive and nagbibigay ka ng hope.
“If you wanted to write it’s because you wanted to express and not to impress people because if you’ve wanted to write to seek validation from people it’s gonna be a dead end for you. Write whatever is in the deepest core of your heart and take your time, run your own pace and not compare yourself to other people and you’ll get there.”
“Know the purpose of your writing cause if you don’t know the purpose why you’re writing then it’s gonna be easy for you to get distracted and to give up. Always believe in what you’re creating. If you don’t believe in the platform or the content that you're writing or vlogging about then it’s not gonna be easy for others to believe in you also. Believe yourself first and others will follow.”

“Write consistently that’s so important... everyday you have to write and sometimes you just have to give yourself permission to write your ugly first draft. You’re not gonna get it right on the first try but just continue writing no matter how ugly it is, you can always edit it.”
