THEY CALL ME JESSE JAMES. I knew when I got home, this wildie, they call Jesse James, was the first portrait I'd want to work on. I was smitten with him. I saw him when we walked the lowlands of the mountains, looking for a new foal in order to determine the gender. He was such an impressive leader, always having eyes on us, whether we were low or up on a high cliff - he seemed to always know and stare straight at us. There was no sneaking about on Jesse. I loved the way he oversaw and protected his family. Most images of him were with him in shrub, but in this case I managed to get his beautiful face and mane. Note that scar on his forehead.
