‭Psalms 129:5-8

May all who hate Zion

be turned back in shame.

May they be like grass on the roof,

which withers before it can grow;

a reaper cannot fill his hands with it,

nor one who gathers fill his arms.

May those who pass by not say to them,

“The blessing of the Lord be on you;

we bless you in the name of the Lord.”

PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 129

Tuesday, 1/16/24

SCRIPTURE:

...since my youth they have often attacked me,  but they have not prevailed against me.  ~ Psalm 129:2

The Lord is righteous; He has cut the ropes of the wicked.  ~ Psalm 129:4

OBSERVATION:

As much as I'd like to "claim" verse 2... I know (and admit), better... 

But I can - and do - claim verse 4...

He has cut the ropes I got (and still on occasion get), tangled in...

...Jesus...

APPLICATION:

Quit getting tangled up in the "ropes of the wicked..."

Do not let "them" - the enemy - prevail...

Rely on Him and His righteousness instead of myself... 

PRAYER:

Freeing Heavenly Father - thank You for cutting the ropes - and I ask forgiveness for the too many times I've gotten all tangled up in them again... may Your Holy Spirit remind me and encourage me to take Jesus's words to heart and action - "Not my will, but Yours, be done..." - In His Name, and for Your glory... 

As always, yours always, in all ways... through and because of Him...
