Our US railroads have bought back $226 BILLION worth of their own stocks in the past decade by refusing to hire new employees, maintain equipment or replace unsafe and worn out equipment. They won’t increase pay, even to keep up with inflation. They cut healthcare benefits while increasing copays. Refuse to offer sick days. Won’t let you call off sick. Won’t let you choose which days you want to use the vacation you’ve earned.

They force overtime regularly. They threaten you and write you up if you go home at your regularly scheduled time. They force you to get a doctors note even if you miss one day. Even if it is because your kids are sick.
