ABOUT DANI

Being a part of an open and accepting, and well off, family meant that Dani had the freedom to do what she wanted, when she wanted. A jack of all trades she was though, never sticking to one thing for very long. Ice skating, roller derby, softball, chess club, creative writing classes, you name it, Dani has tried it. She needed something to scratch an itch but she didn't know what to do, she loved doing unique things that no one else had but with a little nudge from her parents she decided to go down a different root, do the more common activities but just be exceptional at them.

So she changed things up. Starting learning how to sing and read music and play instruments, but not just one instrument, six. Spending her teenager years making videos on YouTube of her covers and busking on the streets. But after that she soon discovered her main passion, tattooing. It wasn't until she and a friend snuck themselves into a party they definitely were too young to be at, they found that down in the basement a totally illegal tattooing session was taking place. Dani was instantly hooked, watching the way that ink and skin were combined. So she went away, totally focused on art and learning the craft of being a tattoo artist.

Making sure that would be the best of the best, Dani enrolled herself to PSU as an art major and took as many jobs as she could on the side, including gigs. It wasn't long after graduation that a great opportunity fell into her lap. A perfect sized building, with great rent and in a fantastic place to grab the attention of experimenting college students and tipsy tourists, had become available and Dani knew that she had to take the plunge. It didn't take long for Wither & Bloom (named after Dani's love of flowers) opened and Dani knew that she had finally scratched that itch.

Dani is a pretty chilled out soul. Likes to see both sides of the story and barely gets angry. A massive flirt, you'll often see her pulling the moves on any woman she gets in her tattoo chair. Her love of music is still there, but tattoos take priority.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

The Flores family consists of Emilia and Louisa, two women who fell in love in a way that truly came right out of a romance novel. Emilia was a young novelist who knew that she wanted to write the next great romance series, and she did. In the early 2000s, the Rockford series was known as the ultimate guilty pleasure period novels, with dashing dukes and a mysterious gossip columnist. Emilia met Louisa when the novels were first being published, as Louisa worked in PR for the publishing house. The Rockford novels became a smash hit when Netflix picked them up as a TV series, and it’s been the TV show that has catapulted Emilia into a very solid and stable career. Louisa is still working at Penguin Publishing. They have four children, two are biologically Emilia’s and two are biologically Louisa’s. They’ve used the same sperm donor for all four children, so they’re all technically half siblings. Emilia and Louisa have been having a rough patch and are currently in couple’s counseling. They are considering separating, but have been trying to reconcile for the sake of their family.

Connection details: Liv had been out of the dating game for 12 years after her attack, acutely aware of how the long scars on her chest and stomach look. However, after some gentle encouragement from her friends, Liv is now ready to dip her toe back into the dating pool. She's very nervous, as despite not being a virgin, 12 years is a long time to not have been in the game. She would meet this person either on a dating app or at a bar, and while there is a spark and a good amount of sexual chemistry, there's not a lot else. Liv is okay with this, she's not looking to find the love of her life right out of the gate, and they begin a very casual hookup relationship, helping love learn to feel attractive again.
