She was at least 99.9% certain he’d heard her that time when she confessed that she did, in fact, have a crush on him. Whether he had one on her or not was up for debate, and it was for this fact that she’d ended up hesitating as long as she had--that, and the much less dramatic reason of she simply wasn’t sure how to actually confess to someone. The last time she’d tried this, it had ended with laughter, a fight, a gentle stabbing, and..
No. No, this time, it would be different. She’d pull whatever of herself she could together, walking into this kitchen, walk right up to her teammate with a dwindling confidence in her eyes, and--
“W-we..we need to..t-talk.”
It sickened her a little that parts of her old fears and worries and nervousness were showing through so strongly, but she’d do her best to figure out a way to get out what she needed to say, and make it coherent.
“I..I remember sorta..cluin’ ya in on the fact that..I had a m-major..crush on you, s-some time ago.. I..I dunno how..ya feel about that. I know I’m annoyin’, and I do a lot of stuff without thinkin’.. I’m an idiot, really, and ya probably shouldn’t have t’deal with my shit as much as ya do.. Mmn..I..”
She was rambling more than she wanted, getting off topic and farther away from the original point she wanted to get across.
“Th--I--..I’m..I really like you, Claude.. More than as a teammate, or a friend, I..”
“I love you.. and..and it’s..p-probably..er..um..n-no, I..I mean.. If--..If yer willin’ t’put with me some more, I.. I dunno how great I’ll be at it, but..I..wanna try and be someone who..who can m-make you happy..”
