“You don’t want to stand there.”
She’d only known him for a few days, but the boy had managed to worm his way into her heart, relatively easy. Kind promises and affectionate motions had lead her to feeling her heart beat just a second faster, and his face and voice to pass through her thoughts at least once a day.
Again, he passes through her mind, but for a different reason. Having looked out her apartment window this afternoon, she could see some sort of chaos happening on one of the neighboring islands..and it was beginning to spread to the other islands, Ikaika surely to be included. He was..on one of those other islands..and he could likely be in danger. Though there seemed to be a large, protective dome pushing up from Makana island’s surface, there was no promising that he was inside, or that he was even on that island..
Moving quickly, she grabbed her stash of knives, a pistol she’d recently bought, and a few extra clips of bullets, before running from her apartment to begin her search for him. Even if he wasn’t on this island, or any of the nearby islands, she’d search until she found him--hopefully before anything terrible happened. Making it out of her apartment building without running into any of the mechanical bats, she did her best to stick to areas where she could take cover if necessary, while still doing her best to move quickly.
Turning a sharp corner, she almost yelps as she comes face to face with the boy she was searching for.
“Chiaki..!”
At first, Tsukasa doesn’t recognize where he is. The ceiling feels lower--or higher?--and the bed feels like it belongs to someone else. When his hands stop feeling so heavy, they feel like they’re attached to his limbs by strings and he has to think about what part of his brain moves his muscles to rub at his face without poking his eyes out.
Now, he can see his own hands with recognition--suddenly, the scars cascading from the tips of his fingers and up to his arm make sense. The flashes in his memories are no longer foreign. It’s all there--the burning, the screams, the tears. The tears. The tears.
Water should still be in his lungs instead of air. Tsukasa sits up suddenly with a cough, to convince himself otherwise that, while this aching is familiar once more, he is alive and it’s all there again.
Tsukasa ignores the sleeping form next to him as he gets up. He pretends like there’s no one there at all, like a bar has been placed between himself and Hadyn. Now all the lies make sense. The lies make sense, and Tsukasa would rather believe in the world where he doesn’t remember a thing from before. Everything that happened to Solitude--Hadyn leaving him in misplaced martyrdom--the lies--
It’s funny how memories can create a world of their own, but right now, there is no such thing as a world where Tsukasa can accept any of this.
Tsukasa gets dressed quickly, and looks around for his staff. It’s easy for him to avoid allowing his gaze to fall on Hadyn when he silently remembers the abandonment. Quietly, Tsukasa is seething, but he would certainly scream and cry if he had to look at Hadyn’s face right now.
If she were honest, she was a little worried about breaking this news to Brick, if only because she felt he..wouldn’t take to kindly to it. Ian got beat up enough by islanders without Brick knowing she was now pregnant... Still, he was going to find out one way or another, and it was probably better to find out sooner rather than later.
“Brick..! I’ve got some news for you..!”

So far, Light is learning people’s names fairly quickly, but he has yet to figure out who is actually human. Even some of the so-called humans have possession of otherworldly abilities, and that makes it somewhat tricky. Light is curious to know if Death Note would work on any of these superhumans and other creatures, but he’ll have to save experimenting for a more appropriate time. For now, one of his goals is to get to know his fellow residents. It’s advantageous for him to have a good reputation, and now starts the tedious task of socializing.
“Mukuro-kun, was it? I don’t think I properly introduced myself before...My name is Light Yagami. You’ve been here for quite a while, haven’t you? If you have the time, I was wondering if you could help me learn a little bit more about this place.”
He may have won the game in the end, and he certainly did kill Ian quite a few times during the game, but that’s not stopping him from rushing forward to throw a punch at him. He was on good terms, until Ian got a little too competitive, and killed/incapacitated him and Serara multiple times.
“You know, I actually didn’t mind that you had adopted Serara, for a while--I didn’t even mind that you’d hurt Auntie, anymore, and were still somehow together with her..but now?! I don’t care if it was a game, or if it’s because you happen to be a competitive player, you hurt Serara.”
“There’s no one around to protect you, right now. I’ve got a lot of anger and pain to send your way. Find a way to block your teeth if you don’t want to loose them, human.”

It should come as a surprise that there are other timelines, with other outcomes in the Nohrian conflict with Hoshido. It should come as a surprise, and it does, but what has Camilla captivated most of all is how there is a second Corrin--a brother, and a capable warrior in his own right, from what she has learned of him.
Her brother. An even bigger family!
“Ah, there you are, Corrin! If you have a moment, there is still much I would love to discuss with you.”
