I'm very proud of myself and honored to say that in the next few months, I'll be training to be the charge nurse of my psych unit. I've only been here 7 months. But my bosses trust me and like me enough to train me.

I've been a nurse leader before, but this is more meaningful to me.

So, just officially accepted the offer for a psych nursing position at a psych hospital!!! 

But, we spent only like 8-12 weeks in our psych rotation, and I feel so unprepared -- I’m reviewing the gigantic meds list, psychiatric conditions, side effects, communication -- and feeling overwhelmed... But I guess this is common for all new grads who start their first official position. 

I can only hope I do well and be a positive advocate for my patients :,)
