the anon asking about their partner.
I dont live in the US and his sessions with his psych are usually 50-60mins. He does take meds but his psych is also his therapist. He is seeing him less and less frequently (its at once a month now).
Talked with my psych about my voncerns and yesterday again with my partner and he said he would like me to write down the symtoms etc... he has and talk to his psych about it, because he wants to actually work o those things, but is unable to confront the psych bc he has a hard time opening up and he wants to get forwards in his healing
Perhaps he should write his own symptoms? It’s his session, treatment, recovery, and healing. He should be actively involved in it. He should be able to identify his symptoms, or what he feels his symptoms are.
A part of healing is being a part of your healing. His relationship with his psych is something he should be encouraged to speak with them about. Psychiatrists can’t read minds. If he feels it’s not a good fit, it’s alright to look for another psychiatrist.
All of the things you’ve mentioned regarding his therapeutic relationship are things he can work towards expressing to them.
