Joly pursed his lips as he peered over his notes. Hypnotism wasn’t a new interest but performing it himself was. He watched dozens of youtube videos, read multiple papers, even purchased a couple books on the subject. The hardest part, Joly gathered, was in the technique. As long as Jehan was willing to be hypnotized then Joly just had to get some sort of script down to get him to that point.

As usual, he was getting ahead of himself. He’d yet to ask Jehan if this was something he was interested in trying but no time like the present, right? Besides, even if he wasn’t Joly still thought it’d be fun to try on the others. Surely, Bossuet would oblige him. Jehan inspired it though so he was first, and was invited over for tea and, in Joly’s own words, a proposition. 

The moment he heard a knock he was on his feet and crossing the room. “You made it!” He was beaming as he stepped aside to let Jehan in. “Come. Sit. Tea first? Lesgle’s in class. What are your thoughts on hypnotism as a means for treating addiction?”

For a long moment, the silence between them stretches, Morpheus unwilling to think too intently on the question Hob had asked. It was not easy to be forthcoming with his feelings, even more so when it's of a subject so close to those that he tries to keep locked away for fear of breakage. And it's always fear of breaking, fear that allowing himself to feel those things too wholly will break the control he has crafted as a sort of armor for himself.

An armor that he wields now, keeping the emotion from playing on his features. "Far more than I would like to think about. It comes with the territory, I suppose, of living as long as you or I. I imagine you understand far better than many others."
