From • @pandrogyne With Dave Ball (Soft Cell, PTV, The Grid) in 1988. Caresse and I used to play with Dave & Gini’s son sometimes when we were little. One time, Caresse and their son found handcuffs and they cuffed themselves together only to then find out they were legitimate cuffs that needed a key we could not find! If I remember correctly, it turned out Dave had the only key and they had to wait, stuck together for hours until Dave could get back to the house with the key to free them. What a crazy evening that was. Unsupervised kids could get into some interesting situations with that lot. 🖤 Gini Hewes was a PTV collaborator as well as Dave. I’m extremely heartbroken to hear about the passing of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. I will never forget my first meeting with h/er in 2015, after we got kindly introduced by @leavepatrikalone , when s/he was sitting for me for a portrait. After I took the photos we talked for three hours and had Vodka Cranberry. It was a hot summer day in h/er “Nest“ in New York City and Genesis had already problems breathing. S/he played h/er latest record for me and s/he told me how sad and lonely s/he still felt, because of Lady Jaye’s death, h/er other half. We talked about art and life and death and it was really beautiful. What a wonderful person! A unique and true artist! I‘m so glad and honored that I had the chance to meet this legend and could create my work of h/er. In 2016 I presented Genesis the Portrait. When s/he said, that I showed h/er “true self“ in my drawing, I was over the moon! The world lost a real artist! Gen was outstanding... and very sweet.
