Funny story about tatu, though: my brother used to tease me with their music after I came out, for obvious reasons...;;; Did you know that Tatu was supposed to get their own anime, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe of all people? It fell through because their manager (the one who created the whole lesbian image for them in the first place) was a pedo, but it's just an odd little footnote in anime history now. Still, a Watanabe-directed yuri series? *_*

Whaaat? That sounds too crazy to be true. Then again most things about t.A.T.u. seem like fiction rather than reality. Someone replied to that post with quite the story involving as many controversies as possible. I find it funny how so many people react so strongly to them even after all these years. I wasn’t out when they were active, but they’re super dear to me as some of the first lesbians I ever encountered and it seems like I share this with a lot other gay girls my age. Some excellent early lesbian culture right there.
