I know you knew it was me before ya came to the door, but I got the address from a friend, a mutual friend, though you probably don’t think they’re a friend anymore. But my point is that I’m here to say I’m sorry and that I don’t know what else to do to make ya not stab me in the face, but I can tell ya that they are pushin’ hard for me to arrest people and I can’t do it. I just can’t do it. I went on a ride along with NOVA agents and they were arresting normal humans because they looked funny. And I can’t keep doin’ this and I just want you to know that I’m so, so sorry!” Yes he was talking to a door right now but he knew she was there because he’d seen her go in the building not five minutes earlier.

“Look,” Emma says, inviting herself to sit across from Betsy. “I know you’d rather not talk to me, and that’s fine or whatever but I have a proposition for you.” She says, leaning back against the back of the chair, crossing her arms over her chest. “We’re more alike than you’d like to think and I think our interests align.”

“Oh, hi!” Evan chirped with a sheepish grin. “It’s you again. Sorry -- I forgot your name. Coworker of, uh, Fantomex and Deadpool.” He gives her a sheepish look. Their last conversation had been -- awkward at best. Evan assumed it had something to do with him, but he’d show her -- he was nice and friendly. Likeable, darn it.

Hello sunshine, Emma thought from across the coffee shop, quirking an eyebrow when she made eye contact with Betsy. Saw you at the protest. That shockingly didn’t go as well as anticipated, and yet its suggested we be herded like cattle.

“Ms. Braddock?” Cessily was an adult now -- there was really no need to call someone by their teacher name but she was an authority figure then and Cess still saw her as that. She offered her a friendly smile. She didn’t want to just assume Ms. Braddock remembered her, but it wasn’t every day you meet a telepathically difficult girl made of liquid metal. “Hi. I thought that was you, I feel like I’m running into everyone here,” She hadn’t decided if that was good or bad yet -- perhaps mostly good but it was opening up some memories she wasn’t exactly keen to address. “Star City seems to be a magnet for uh... people like us.” She shrugs. “Anyway! It’s good to see you, I hope you’ve been well?”
