The PTA Predators 

So, who are the main moms from the PTA that Valerie despises so much? Yes, there are a few more than listed. But, this is the big clique that is against her. There are actually ladies she doesn’t mind so much and actually likes on some level. But, these are the cringers. 

FC: Jaimy Pressly - The poor one that tries to keep up with the Joneses

FC: Kristin Chenoweth - The do gooding Christian

FC: Missi Pyle - The OCD control freak Karen

FC: Jennifer Coolidge - The Flamboyant Botox Mom always getting work done

FC: Tamra Judge - The real money and lead of the group that always fights with the church lady for who’s running this PTA, not by official titles, but who the mice are following because they also are all in other clubs together like book clubs, and wine tasting groups, charity events, and things Valerie has no interest in being a part of which has branded her a bit of a snoot for not socializing more. But, it’s not her thing obviously.

So lemme ask a question. In the last story of Playing House. The pta moms were actually hating on Beth while agonizing about her leaving the PTA? So Asmita has been basically like biting the hand that feeds her or helps her on this case with organizing these events.

Y’know, funnily enough, I feel like it’s pretty much canon that Beth and the other PTA moms don’t actually particularly like each other. I think they’re sort of associated more out of necessity than anything else - like colleagues who are united around a job. I think we saw that in all of Beth, Asmita and Lauren’s interactions in 2.10, and I think the way we saw Asmita and Lauren totally cave to the rules and essentially blackball Beth by not putting out her baking at the class event sort of underlines the fact that they’re not friends. I think we saw it back in S1 through the Shutdown ep too when Beth was obviously going stir crazy and hating having to socialise again with the other PTA moms. 

I think certain types of women can get really competitive in those sorts of environments too - particularly around parenting, so that’s kind of how I wrote Asmita, haha. I mean - it’s canon that she thought she could do the class catering better than Beth after all, so I think she lowkey puts herself in competition with Beth who, after all, has a pretty perfect, domestic goddess vibe going on.

Shade is made within the emails of pta moms. Like dang, my mom has two friends on speaker phone while creating this bomb email to someone who threw a really passive aggressive and actually straight up aggressive email about money for an event for graduates. And the shade is real, she is out to kill.
