So just for fun, because I am not really an artist, I’m going to try doing Inktober following @ptchew‘s Cryptid prompt list, which will be doubly interesting because I only recognise about 13 of the creatures. So things might get a little weird and a little wild here.

I just watched it too!!! and!!!! SAME!!!!

I spent so much of the movie just grinning gleefully. It’s strange, realising how much it weighs on me going to see male-led movies, because even if I enjoy the movie I’m still aware that it’s being driven by a different viewpoint. And how uplifting it is to have the opposite experience, where there are like? two? moments where she’s in any way disrespected and where the most skin you see is when she’s barefoot for two minutes.

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom

I’ve long since stopped taking what Thomas Astruc says about the show on twitter as gospel. I’ve gone through the last 5 years of J K Rowling putting out way too much about Harry Potter and so badly damaging what she built. If he wants something to be canon, he needs to put it in the show. If he’s just going to come out and say things that straight up contradict what the show presents, like “Rule #1 of Miraculous: Adrien is perfect” and then putting out an episode like Frozer, I’m not interested.

Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?

First and foremost, Lukanette. I just straight up have the tag filtered. I’m not huge about any non-Love Square ships involving Marinette and Adrien, but usually I can at least understand. But with Luka... he’s appeared in a speaking role in two episodes, in both of which he just came across to me as creepy and annoying, with his only personality trait being “plays music”.

His final scene in Frozer was good, but then I’ve seen people use that scene to claim that clearly he is utterly in love with Marinette (being willing to let her go) and that he deserves her. There’s no way he’s in love with her, he barely knows her. At most he had a crush on her, but recognised she had stronger feelings for someone else, and decided both not to get in the way of that, and that he wouldn’t want to be involved with someone who just wanted to be with someone else.
