more should be made of how close ptds is to ptsd .it just feels like a duscher riff waiting to happen.
Yo, it did send the first time too, but absolutely in agreement! Every time I go to tag something on this blog I always have to double check I've not got the acronyms mixed up 😂
Also worth acknowledging certain episodes of PTDS may cause PTDS --- Looking at you Joel Zammit's crime-fighting superpower 👀
Shepard's Therapy Files, #2
Another day sitting in the same room she had before. It had been a decent week. No more nights waking up in terror and wanting to end her life, though the nightmares did persist. The concept of being able to lay her demons to rest gave Shepard a reason to attend more sessions. It was nice to have her bond-mate smiling at her again. For that alone, she was willing to dive into the depths of…
After WWII European jews didn't need a land but a collective PTDS therapy. Instead, hords of untreated psychopaths were released in Palestine projecting their trauma and hatred toward their German persecutors onto the innocent Palestinian people for 75 years.
little pink joon in his little pink hat
sorry.
I'm relistening to old plumbing the Death Star episodes and was hit with "Sanspants Radio. Putting the Win back in Wincest" which immediately made me stop, look, listen and despair. I never fucking noticed that before and I hate it!
So, we know theres a lot of effective potions for physical illnesses and wounds - but what about mental health? I'm sure Bella could really use some after that whole Azkaban thing?
If so, did you provide her with them, if she even wanted them?
Oh sure there are some remedies - but the thing you must realize is that the mind is incredibly complex. Ones memories, feelings, emotions - they cannot be knitted back together with the same ease as a cut or a broken bone. You know, yes, how you can mend a fracture in a second with magic, but to grow bone, it takes a full day? Now imagine the complexity of the mind, and the extent of Bella's psychic injuries. A complete cure, even by magical standards, is out of reach.
Upon immediate release from Azkaban Bella used calming mixes, potions of dreamless sleep, potions to quiet flashbacks, and the like. She has something she still takes as needed for nightmares and panic. These things have helped considerably and I have always kept them on hand. But it takes time, and the experience has changed her permanently.
