NORAH: MARLEY LOUISE ROSE WHERE ARE YOU

KITTY: Hey
[ a pause ]
KITTY: I just wanted to get it out right now that I'm sorry, but I'm not ready to let your mom know about our relationship right now. I care about you a lot and I don't want to mess this up, but I'm still struggling with this.
KITTY: I might not be around as much because of that, but I want you to know it's not a you thing or anything, it's really just a me thing. But if you need me for anything, let me know?

KITTY: Hey. I wanted to thank you again for my birthday gifts and the chicken.
KITTY: I also had a question, if that's okay.

“I’m sorry, or whatever. Throw it away if you don’t want it, it’s fine.”

While Millie was undeniably a warm, generous person, Kitty spent as much time as she could avoiding the other woman. Of course, she was also avoiding Marley a lot, too. At least she had given her a warning about how she was going to avoid her and everything...
...Not that it helped Kitty’s guilty conscience.
If there was a perfect mom to come out to, she’d be a lot like Millie Rose. Sweet, caring, not a judgmental bone in her body, and already accepting of t he idea of her daughter dating a woman. Logically, Kitty knows that telling Millie wouldn’t hurt anything. Millie wouldn’t out her to anyone else or something. But the idea of more people knowing she and Marley were more than friends was scary. Kitty still couldn’t bring herself to do more than hold Marley’s hand outside of the comfort of their shared room.
So that Friday morning, Millie’s last day, Kitty woke up to an empty hotel room. That made sense, since Kitty was sure Marley was taking her mom to the Manchester airport. Kitty got dressed in her gym clothes and ate a protein bar she had in her bag. She planned on just grabbing some coffee downstairs in the breakfast area and then she could run to the gym and get that out of the way.
But to her surprise, she found both Marley and Millie in the breakfast area as well, obviously wrapping up their own breakfast. Knowing it would be rude to completely ignore them, Kitty went over to their table and greeted them before sitting down. “I guess you’re heading out soon?” Kitty asked as she poured herself some coffee.
“It’s been great having you around, Miss Rose,” Kitty said after a moment as she somehow managed herself from nervously drumming on her coffee mug. “I hope you had some fun while you were here.” Of course, Kitty’s not sure it could be much fun when you’re trying to deal with your daughter’s less-than-great mental state, but that’s another story all together.
