Love feeling blue... From @ptsrs • Presenting the only PTS Sunoco Blue 991 GT2 RS, delivered in April 2019 to @mosingmotorcars via @porscheatx in Austin, Texas. This example sports the Weissach Package, magnesium wheels in satin White Gold Metallic, door handles in high gloss black, LED headlights, full bucket seats, and full leather interior in Black with Red alcantara. Sunoco Blue is a historically significant color for Porsche, having first graced the 917/30 Can-Am Spyder (seen in photo 8) that sported the legendary blue and yellow Sunoco livery. The color later resurfaced on a ‘79 935 (seen in photo 9) commissioned by famed LA-based Porsche collector Otis Chandler who already owned one of the Sunoco-liveried 917/30 examples. Otis later also commissioned a very special 993 Turbo S in Sunoco Blue as well (seen in photo 10). Fast forward to 2019 and Jeff Mosing of @mosingmotorcars initiated the request to bring back Sunoco Blue for the 991, and his GT2 RS is the only known water-cooled 911 sporting this historically important color. The Sunoco Blue GT2 RS joins an incredible collection of Porsches, including the only 918 Spyder in PTS Burgundy Red, PTS Etna Blue 991 Speedster, silver 959, Guards Red Carrera GT, Lizard Green 991.2 GT3 RS, and the only 981 Boxster Spyder in PTS Ipanema Blue. I have always wanted to visit Austin, Texas, and would love to see this true 1-of-1 GT2 RS one day, as well as the simply brilliant collection it is part of. Many thanks to @jacques_os for tagging me on this car. Without it, I would not have discovered this truly special car.
