Saturday night after the pub was closed ... 😁
one thing i really enjoy about pratchett's works is the way he sort of forces you to use your imagination/use context clues to figure things out. i mean with very subtle things that could go over your head or be misunderstood without proper contextual analyzation.
for example. in a scene from The Color of Magic, Rincewind is being threatened by a thief, meanwhile in the background, people are trying to steal whatever is inside The Luggage. there's some dialogue, and then all of a sudden the thief is distracted by people suddenly screaming, allowing rincewind to escape.
there is no description or explanation for WHY people are screaming. but you can THINK of a reason why. because just a few paragraphs earlier, you were given the visual imagery of rincewind attempting to steal something out of the luggage, and hesitates, because he saw the luggage's lid move to clamp down on his fingers.
started reading discworld when i was 16. i think little things like this in pratchett's writing really helped improve my ability to connect the dots in narratives.
S4E19 ... This story is also based on a real life episode. 😁 Please pay attention to the background.
I wish I would be a composer. This lyrics needs to be transferred in music ...
My extraordinary and special thanks to @omg-okimhere , @ronique and @gsera for their fertilising poetic inputs. 🤗🤗🤗 You see the results is a masterpiece of world literature which once millions of future kids must learn at school 👆🏻
It seems that we have a Jackmund weekend. All right, fandom mates, here’s an unpublished pub confession as tribute 😁
To me, I think it’s like trying to read an encyclopedia but in plain Spanish. I may understand one word in a sentence if I’m lucky. It’s ridiculous, but I still try diligently because the book is factual. Authentic. Truthful. Yeah, just like her. And I like that.
The Pub
We old pair choose the pub for the calm contemplation not meant for clubs and bars. In the waitress we both see fantasies, conjured By adolescent urge, lonely nights.
We joke we are old men, but in the humour there’s a grain of truth – we’re wasted husks fit for nothing but trying the next ale on the pump. We are disappointed that they’ve stopped serving porter.
Pubbage....
So me and Dane are at the pub chatting bollocks. Decided most women are cunts. I feel sorry for him because someone is actually using him and I'm stuck in the middle. Plus, that person is also lying to me. I think folk think I was fucking born yesterday. I am believe it or not, rather intelligent but I never seen this coming. Its going to be a long week, but knowing that at the end of it I get to see someone really special makes me feel sooooo good. I cannot fucking wait to see you babe💋
