2008 ➡️ 2019: I look back at that person in the left picture and I think, “who was I?”. I remember being terrified of who I was because I didn’t understand what it meant to be authentic. I was afraid of saying the wrong thing or acting differently because I didn’t know how people would accept me. And I now look to that person on the right and realize I’m grateful for who I am today and glad to know that I grew up into understanding that being authentic is more freeing than anything in this world.
