Teens today grow up with little to no concept of what privacy is. Or what public means.

This is not about yelling at clouds that the younglings have no manners or such. This is me, noticing that no teen i have met in the past five years was aware of the fact that the internet is a public space and that a train is not the appropriate place to listen to your friends voice message aloud.

Adults, too. There is a loss of ability to distinguish between public and private and i hate it so much.

If you put a picture of your messy bedroom online, you have no right to demand i ignore the messy bedroom. [Though you can ask, of course. And if i am going by the rules of politeness i will respect that and ignore the messy room.]

There is no right to privacy to things you post publicly! And the internet is very much public!

Yes that includes your [tumblr]-blog!

If you post smth here then you are sharing it with the entire fucking world. If you do not like that, then you have to post privately. Or not at all.

If you have an ongoing call while on a train, i may very much "invade the privacy" of said call by entering the conversation or blaring my music at you aloud. No do do not get to complain then.

There's rules to public presence, with the most important one: do not take up more space than you need. This means sound as well. don't yell when you can just as well talk.

"You Say I'm Crazy...

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done." Or because I am a bit on the "cuckoo" side of things. Either way, my sanity is not the thing in question here. (Not yet, anyway...) Let me ask you a question. If you didn't know how to be "attractive" in a club, what would you do? How do you go about being more... inviting, shall we say? How is it your mate, who is dancing like your dad does when he is drunk on New Years, manages to get a number of girls come up to him and kiss and/or give their numbers to him, WITHOUT saying a word?!?!! It was truly amazing to watch, if I'm honest. The point I'm trying to make does not come from a jealousy standpoint, but more of the 'observatorial' social science aspect of it all. Ok, so people fascinate me. I know I'm going to sound like I'm 88 or something, but I don't care, I need to ask this. At what point did we start looking for potential life partners in an alcohol infused free for all, where we learn absolutely nothing about the person we're attracted to? We trade numbers with people, in a moot attempt to maybe get to know them, AFTER we've spent a night with them. We have a rule where we mustn't act upon the trading of numbers within 3 days of getting it, by which time, our short attention span is already thinking about the next night out, where we repeat the pattern. I say we, I've never done it. (Honestly.) I find myself asking "what is the point?" Constantly, just to myself, "what is the FUCKING POINT?! Why have a phone, if you never use it as a phone? Why get someone's number, if you're not going to text or ring them?" While I'm on the subject, that's dying out too, isn't it? Getting somebody's telephone number. It's all, "let me find you on Facebook." Facebook?! You can see this person's face, and you can ASK THEM what they're interested in. Talk to them, ask them what they think of something. People are different online, there's no internal filter that stops them saying something stupid, or using language that just couldn't be decipherable if spoken. (I am pretty much the same as my online appearance, believe me.) But then, this is fascinating to me. I could sit in a club for hours, and just watch people interacting, because it's just so strange. When I go out, I don't "go on the pull," as much as I say I do when with my mates, but I just observe people's behaviours. By now, you probably think I'm some kind of weirdo with some form of learning disability or social impairment, but I can promise you I'm not disabled or impaired. I am definitely weird. Some would say mad. But then, all the best people are. Next time you're out, just watch people. Make little predictions with your friends, and see if it happens. You will be surprised.

Clapping

Clappingis the repetitive action of slapping two parts of the body together. traditionally the hands (fig 1). Aclaprefers to the sound occurring as a result of two pieces of skin striking one another.

While human tradition dictates that hands are used for clapping, some individuals favour using the thighs, arms, or genitals to clap. Clapping may be performed on one's own or with others. The act of one individual clapping another's hand is known as ahigh five; it is traditionally initiated by an elder human to his or her pupil and is seen as a sign of mutual respect. To turn down another's high five is often referred to asleaving one hangingand is considered incredibly disrespectful. Similarly, humans may clap one another on the back or gluteus maximus ("ass") as a sign of affection or enthusiasm, but may also slap one another in the face or chest to show displeasure. This is known as "slapping" and is highly motivated by extreme emotions.

Clapping has two common purposes among humans: a) to show respect, admiration, or anticipation and b) as a percussion instrument. Humans will traditionally clap at the end of a performance to show appreciation. This is known as applause. They can also clap before the performance, such as before the speech of an authority figure, to show submission and excitement. Individuals may clap along to music or dance to aid in the maintenance of a rhythm. Some individuals applaud even when the subject of praise is not and likely will not ever be within earshot; these individuals are highly suspect and their psychological integrity may be questioned.
