She’d seen some sort of book ad, that was it! Definitely. “I think I must’ve seen an advertisement of one of your books or something of the sort.”

Resisting the urge to get his publisher on the phone and demand to know if pictures of him had surfaced, Tanaka frowned, trying to decide how to answer. By all means, he thought, she should not know my connection to those books. Unless she truly is mistaken...

"I am indeed an author," he said, sighing, resigned. "However, I.. have never been in the public eye, neither physically nor by my true name. Therefore, your claims to have recognized me hold little merit; I am sure you are thinking of someone else."

"What?" Tanaka was taken aback. As far as he knew, his identity as the semi-famous author hadn’t been leaked, nor had he ever made any public appearances. Of course, attending Hope’s Peak was a bit of a giveaway; however, there was no way this person could know who he was.

"You are much mistaken, curious one.. Perhaps the one you saw merely looked like me; an unfortunate clone.."
