Writing another Jabber imagine bc WHY THE FUCK NOT-

He’s plaguing my mind so much dude, same with a few other Gachiakuta characters but good lord Jabber-

Pudding/Mari yapping and geeking about Gachiakuta and Black Representation in Anime-

Any of y’all seen Gachiakuta? I HIGHLY recommend it!

Now I don’t usually watch anime in dub just because English sub has more emotion and usually dubs aren’t always as enthusiastic, put-together or have heart or twang- Only time I watch dub is if I don’t feel like reading or to hear certain characters voices bc I love em sometimes- I usually watch it with Tokyo Revengers only- but animes like Gachiakuta and Dandadan really make me wanna watch it in dub. They’re my favorite animes of this year besides One Piece and JJBA.

Studio bones did an amazing job replicating the style from the manga and the voice actors really did their part voicing their lines as well, making the anime absolutely enjoyable and refreshing to watch. The plot and overall story of the anime is refreshing to me in my opinion and has me really invested to the point where I’m buying the manga next month for my birthday- Same for Dandadan-

Kei Urana also wrote Gachiakuta, a woman author just like Koyoharu Gotouge who wrote Kimetsu no Yaiba Demon Slayer. Kei Urana was also the assistant and acknowledged successor of Atsushi Ohkubo who worked on both Soul Eater and Fire Force.

From the main protagonist, Rudo all the way down to the side characters like Enjin, Zanka, Griss, Riyo, and Semiu- To the current main antagonist like Jabber and even background characters are so colorful. All the character’s dialogue have so much flavor and swagger to me about it if you get what I mean- And their voices are clear and just as beautiful to listen to-

I really adored episode six and seeing Jabber Wonger in action. His dub in the anime was absolutely AMAZING. Zeno Robinson voiced Hawks (MHA) and Genya (KNY) did an awesome job voicing him, same with Kenneisha Thompson who voiced Semiu Grier! I LOVE Black and POC ethnicity representation in animes since we don’t get much of it often-

Theres also AJ Beckles who voiced Ken Takakura (Okarun) (DDD), Takemichi Hanagaki (TR) and even Poison Mushroom Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom- and Anairis Quiñones who voiced Rumi Usagiyama (MHA) and Riko Orimoto (JJK 0). Both who are also Black voice actors and are also engaged! Anairis is Puerto-Rican Black.

I also REALLY love AJ Beckles- The characters he voiced are also my favorite archetypes and I overall just adore his voice.

I ABSOLUTELY FUCKED WITH THAT PART OF JABBER’S DUB, THERE’S OTHER MOMENTS AS WELL WITH HIM AND SEMIU. I LOVE POC REPRESENTATION IN ANIME DUDE- AND GACHIAKUTA IS ONE OF THE ANIMES THAT DID IT’S PART RIGHT IN THAT!

There’s also other animes that does the same, I have to look more into it and do my research because I love different ethnic representations-

With that said, hearing Jabber and Semui’s voices and overall swagger as a Black woman made me like them instantly not only because of the representation but also because of their designs as well as their voice actors who’re also Black.

Jabber is literally one of the first anime antagonists that I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with, even though I’m not supposed to like the antagonist and usually never have before- Besides Diavolo & Doppio Vinegar from JJBA. It was like a love-hate relationship with them-

Enough of my yapping, I’m still piling up all my works to post which is why I kinda stopped- I just wanted to express how much I enjoyed watching and catching up in Gachiakuta yesterday and express how much I love seeing Black representation in these mentioned animes.

A small edit, Corey Wilder voices Zanka Nijiku- They’re another black voice actor who also needed to be mentioned!
