Hello! First off, I really admire your style, it's really interesing! I wanted to ask you about TAW. I saw that you're from Latvia, and I'm from Poland. Idk if it the same in your country, but seeing the monthly cost of supplies on TAW's site my heart sinks a little every time. I know only about scholarships for students outside the EU. How do you manage to pay off the bills?
Few people were asking me the same question, so I guess I’ll just write a long answer.
Hello there! Thank you very much :)
Same was with me, when I realized that this is one of the few danish educations that are not fully covered by government. But, nevertheless, in comparison to other European animation institutions (at least the decent ones), this is the cheapest you can get. Not very comforting, but still.
As far as I am aware, you can get scholarship only as non-EU, yes. And it’s hella competitive. But as a EU student you can apply for SU (neat danish scholarship that all danes live off) if you work 10 h a week. Tho I know only few people who do that, it’s quite uneasy to find a job here - small town, foreign language etc.
I get a lot of help from my family, we have been saving a bit on my education for a while (my parents knew that I will do it abroad since forever), as well as I worked my ass off for few summers. This year is ok and my parents are willing to help in the future as well, but the loan (especially the danish one) is also an option for me.
For now I have a part-time job at school in the mornings, but it takes a lot from my self-study time and my sleep, since the school is very intense (in a nice way), so I won’t be able to have it next year.
But you see, it is very personal for everyone. I know people who have no support from family & come from countries with low salaries like we do, but they find jobs, get SU, swim in money and are very happy& maintain their health. For some working extra is too much and they rely on parents support. A lot of people have taken loans from their countries. Others do freelance on the side.
I suppose all of the internationals in this school have to find their ways to survive, but at the end it is very much worth it :) The monthly fee pays for many things we have here! If you want to know more about that, just ask. But this is just my insight. Obviously, I still understand how difficult it is, since I live it myself.
asdfghjkl I meant what you were wearing on your head, sorry for being not specific, but thank you nonetheless! I hope you'll have a nice week
oh no sorry i read the ask to fast, its also borrowed from stells & its horns attached to a diadem(sorry dont know the word in english) im pretty sure they bought them online or smth like that
Hej, I was introduced to your tumblr through jakusz, both of you have A+ aesthetic taste, good job. I have two questions; 1) what are you wearing in your lates photoset? Is this some sort of a headband? 2) Lately I've been exposed to Swedish culture (following bunch of Swedish people on tumblr, watching Swedish movies etc) and I though about learning the language. Do you think (as a native) it is hard? Thanks in advance!
thank you1. im wearing old clothes from h&m & a shirt that i borrowed from stells, i think its from monkie but idk??2. imo i cant rly say since ive spoken it since i was a kid but it can be hard, the fact that there arent rly any rules when to use en or ett (a & an) makes it rly hard bc u kinda just have to go with what sounds best & hope its correct???id ask others who are trying to learn the language to know how hard they think it is mannen
aaa how did you get that hair colour? it looks amazing! (and so do you btw)
thank you! I dyed my hair like a pastel blue color and it just faded out
