Question for you guys
What are your favorite Carmilla characters, fav to least fav?
i just want to say that the Goat looks very cool here
I've been looking forward to covering the Goat in blood!
It will happen again
i'm going feral again revisiting the No Will comics.
Just. AUGHHHH.
LIKE, okayh. Okay. Just... AUGHUGF. I'm normal. I prommy. Trust. Like. The Goat made a choice. Already. Here. The Lamb's entire point of the Bad Order was to force the Goat to choose, and it worked, they just thought that "following the bad order" was failure rather than itself an option provided. Cause, like, look! Look at it! It stopped. It thought, even if it wasn't the "right" choice, it still thought about it and DECIDED. jUST. UGHA;GHQAG,.
LAMMMBBBBBBB YOU ALREADY WONN GO BACKKKKK GO BACK TO THE GOAT YOU DID IT YOU GOT IT LAMMMBBBB COME BACK PELEASSEEEEEEEE AUGHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
ok i'm normal again :] hi how are you
Characterizing the No Will version of the Goat has easily been my favorite part of these comics. I have such a limited toolset in expressing the Goat's internal thoughts, having to communicate SO MUCH with only minute changes in expression.
It makes me happy to see you guys try and figure out what's going on inside their head!
Just read your Changeling comic again. I love it a lot! I also really like Fianna and Dana!
I wonder what they'd look like when they grow up though...
I've always imagined them resembling Mary and Aoife
I'd be really interested to see how you handle McGinnis if/when you get to doing a backstory for her! I find her so interesting just in how... Evil she comes across? Not in an operatic or over the top way like most fictional villains, but in an extremely real way. The banality of it all.
I'm curious to see if you lean into that or try to find more of a sympathetic ember in there!
I can't guarantee that I'll make a backstory comic for every hero, but I agree that McGinnis is a pretty interesting character. One of my favorite comments on my Calico comic was a discussion as to whether she was worse than McGinnis as indirect killers: the personal betrayal or the apathetic mass murderer.
Personally I like exploring that kind of apathy (it's why I wrote the Calico comic the way I did), so while I don't think she feels that bad for the harm her work does, I don't think she's 100% comfortable with her deal under Fairfax. Her reasons are just not attached to morality.
I usually get the ideas for my comics by finding unanswered questions in a character's lore (why is Pocket afraid of their briefcase? how did Vindicta get her powers? what's the nature of rem's connection to haze?). The question that comes to mind for me with McGinnis is where her family is in all of this. She doesn't have many connections in general, she isn't even friends with a single other hero in the game. Considering Fairfax paraded her genius around when she was still a teen, the distinct silence about even parents is a little strange.
"that one time uniquenameosaurus pretended to be sponsored by a merch site#only to immediately 180 and reveal that the sites products are of shitty quality and all their art is stolen"

Ask and ye shall receive!
The segment is at 4:50 if you're not interested in the larger analysis, but tbh I recommend the vid and their channel if you like media analysis.
