Puffinhoarder

Puffinhoarder or puffincollector: term used to describe someone who collects labels of identities on the aro and/or ace spectrums. A puffinhoarder may or may not be on both the aro and ace spectrums, and can collect labels from either spectrum or both. A puffinhoarder may also be hoarding identities from either the aromantic or asexual spectrum, while still being on the other spectrum, for example one can hoard aromantic spectrum identities but not asexual spectrum identities while identifying as being on the asexual spectrum. A puffinhoarder's actual identity isn't fluid, but they collect labels that they find to be suitable for them. A puffinhoarder can have a complex identity in that they require multiple identities and specifications to describe themselves.

The term was coined by Tumblr user confused-moon in May 2021.

Can I use puffinhoarder if I primarily hoard aplatonic-spectrum identities to indicate my unique relationship with platonic attraction? Because the definition only says acespec and arospec identities. Aplspec ones are nearly always forgotten. People think we’re crazy because we don’t want friendship, which is apparently “something that is a basic need”.

so as far as i can see, there doesn't seem to be one for the aplspec? which, yeah, feels like something we as a community do need to address. admittedly, all tertiary attractions need more attention, including the aplspec.

i don't know much about identity hoarding, however, the way i see it, you can probably use puffinhoarder and clarify your specific usage or coin a new term. if someone in the community knows more about this, please do chime in haha
