It was 55 years ago, this month, when the fiery civil rights activist and Nation of Islam leader Malcolm X was gunned down in Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom.

Three Nation of Islam members were convicted of his murder. But now, a new Netflix series has prompted the New York City district attorney’s office to review those convictions and re-investigate who’s actually responsible for killing Malcolm X.

You have no clue what you've done to me, do you? To you I was just another girl in your row. But to me you were so much more.

Before I met you I had forgotten this feeling. This feeling of falling in love. The butterflies dancing in my stomach. My heart jumping when hearing a specific voice, your voice. Hoping to see you, be near you. Hoping for that every time I was breathing.

But you destroyed me. Left me. Broke my heart. Changed me. You triggered something within in me. Something which made me distract myself with boys every time I went dancing. I got dependent on boys attention. I got used to avoiding second dates and getting to know someone. I never called them, eventhough i promised. I started drinking more. I began hurting others, breaking their hearts. I was finding myself somewhere I've never been before.

I lost hope in something, anything meaningful and I started trusting the distractions.

But you don't know that. You don't know any of this. And I bet if you did, you wouldn't care, you wouldn't understand.
