I thought I was done making fake Dark Shadows pulp novel covers with the art of Robert McGinnis and his contemporaries, but when I ran across this McGinnis piece it reminded me so much of Angelique in 1795 I couldn't resist.

Like Pansy’s Song, I’m not completely satisfied with how it turned out (especially considering I‘m working with a pair of inflamed corneas that make everything a bit blurry. But also like Pansy’s Song, the original model’s resemblance to the Dark Shadows character was too good to pass up or wait for. (I did lighten the model’s hair and intensify her makeup.)

Another day, another fake Dark Shadows pulp novel from a Robert McGinnis painting. I'm not quite satisfied with this one, but the woman in the painting looked so much like Pansy Faye I couldn't resist.

I found this painting by Robert McGinnis, a prolific artist who created many novel covers and movie posters. It reminded me of a glamorized version of our dear doctor, so I put together this fake pulp novel cover for giggles.
