Quick sketch because this concept has been plaguing my brain. Just the idea that after Gesicht's death, Hoffman isn't really given the proper time to grieve before he's already getting commissioned for another police robot to replace him.

It makes me wonder if Hoffman would take a leave of absence himself to process what it means to bring a robot life into the world, become that robot's friend, and then slowly be awakened to the fact that this robot will be used by the system he exists in, possibly die for it, and that Hoffman himself is replaceable if he steps out of line.

"The disconnect between how she is perceived by the world (as a child) vs how she actually is (an adult woman) has similarities to the trans experience. She experiences a lot of anguish because of this, but on the other hand she can use it to her advantage (to infiltrate families and commit murders), so that's inspiring <3"

"She wasn't originally going to be a woman, and in fact before she is actually introduced, she is referred to with "he" pronouns (by Dr Woodard). Therefore, ignoring the real-life reason for it, I think it is fun to see her as trans (she hasn't had a chance to come out to Dr Woodard yet at that point). I think she is already a very good and progressive character for the 60s; wouldn't it be even cooler, in this fantasy version of the 60s, if she was also a trans woman?"

Untold Tales of Dark Shadow

When Professor Stokes was researching material for a lecture at Miskatonic University, he came across and ancient etching he could not understand… a portray of a man who appeared to be Barnabas Collins. But that was impossible!

When he shared his discovery with Dr. Hoffman and Barnabas, they trio decided to travel to Egypt and unravel the mystery themselves!

I found this painting by Robert McGinnis, a prolific artist who created many novel covers and movie posters. It reminded me of a glamorized version of our dear doctor, so I put together this fake pulp novel cover for giggles.
