Quick sketch because this concept has been plaguing my brain. Just the idea that after Gesicht's death, Hoffman isn't really given the proper time to grieve before he's already getting commissioned for another police robot to replace him.
It makes me wonder if Hoffman would take a leave of absence himself to process what it means to bring a robot life into the world, become that robot's friend, and then slowly be awakened to the fact that this robot will be used by the system he exists in, possibly die for it, and that Hoffman himself is replaceable if he steps out of line.
