Pulse with the beat
my wrist is all yours to feel..........
Repost from IG (follow @cardio_bear ) of a slow #bradycardia pulse
I've done five days of cardiac rehab now. After the working, you have to rest until your pulse is what it was before the exercise. Then you go off the telemetry.
I think I get why my sister liked it - she'd been doing half marathons pre-surgery and her pulse went down slowly so she got to chat (her surgery was not for an attack). Mine is still quck to back down.
I remember finishing a race and feeling the beating like something was banging on my ribs. I'd be dry before it had settled. All this time I thought that I'd been doing it wrong. That time I swam a mile under 14 min it seemed like my heart couldn't slow down.
Never got it going as fast as the sprinters did, though. The pulse-based sets never got me fast enough to take a break, so eventually I treated them as distance practice and didn't bother stopping.
