Saw this a bit ago and I absolutely adore companion AUs so I had to do it with Durge companion Impulse.

Here's a previous ask where I spoke about how to reqruit him in act 1

I imagine he would call Tav "Hero" regardless of the route you take. Like at the tiefling party its more condecending while at the goblin party its more to mock the players choices. Rambling more under↓ (approval/dissaproval + romance)

Pulse is a very touchy guy, for better or for worse, he would without a doubt be all up in Tav's space unless he really despises them- which is what I assumed for the low approval one.

For the sake of him still working as a good route/redemption companion as well I think he presents very neutral morally? he is more concerned with himself and eventually as the Durge story plays out, getting to the city. He won't object to helping people but he will question if its a wise deicsion and be mean about it.

He would for sure be romanceable, so those events would naturally also affect his approval as well.

Things that raise his approval:

Getting him cigarettes

Raiding the zhentarim hideout

General snark

Being a sorcerer

Supporting him after Alfira/Quill

Seeing through Ethel's disguise

Etc.

Things that lower his approval:

Reading his mind

Taking unnecesary risks/quests (up untill his perosnal quest is over)

Not letting him kill people

Trusting the Guardian/Emperor

Dismissing his advice

Becoming an unholy assassin in his stead.

Etc.

Things that turn him hostile:

Becoming an unholy assassin in his stead

Not letting him duel Orin

Etc.

There's likely many more I can't think of right now.

For romancing him I think the best attitude way to do it is to challenge him? if you just agree to everything he says or does with no questions (especially in romance scenes) he will find you boring and probably dump you. I imagine his first romance scene would be after some quest about getting him cigs, he flirts, shows off some magic like a douchebag and asks if he can put out the cig on Tav. An instant yes will lead to a fakeout with him saying something along the lines "You want it too badly" while calling you a freak or a pervert. It could still lead to a hookup with a roll similar to the one that you need ot succeed to kiss shadowheart.
