Hasbro Pulsecon Lightning Collection reveals — New ‘Lightning Collection Monsters’ subline unveiled, King Sphinx and Pumpkin Rapper revealed

Along with the usual reveals for Lightning Collection, an entirely new subline was revealed through Pulsecon today — Lightning Collection Monsters, made up entirely of figures based on Monsters of the Week. With two reveals so far deriving from MMPR, the developers of Monsters stated that the intention of this new line was so the standard Ranger figures would have a lot more characters to fight than evil rangers and main villains; with a focus on recreating specific TV scenes. This line is stated to be in a 7’ scale - so as to be slightly larger than the rangers, and has all the articulation, sculpting and paint apps that the mainline does.

The first two figures revealed for Monsters are King Sphinx and Pumpkin Rapper; being iconic well-remembered monsters from MMPR Season 1. Each come with their signature weapons and unique effect accessories, and Pumpkin Rapper in particular comes with three Pumpkin Heads that can swap out with a Ranger’s helmet in the same way the headscults can; in order to recreate his fight scenes from the episode.

Hasbro Pulsecon Lightning Collection reveals — VS 2-Packs of In Space Red vs Astronema & SPD Blue vs A-Squad Blue revealed; Pulsecon wrap-up

Alongside the normal wave reveals, Hasbro Pulsecon has revealed two new VS 2-Packs coming to Lightning Collection: In Space Red Ranger vs Astronema and SPD Blue Ranger vs A-Squad Blue Ranger, both being notable hero and villain rivalries from their respective seasons. Each comes with a wide array of accessories, notable in particular being SPD Blue seemingly having the parts for his combined blaster, and Astronema has optional removeable armour; a first for the Lightning Collection.

Direct reveals aside, many interesting details were dropped during the Pulsecon stream in relation to Lightning Collection:-

Especially with these two packs, the team notes an emphasis on story when releasing figures; such as iconic teamups or rivalries.

Lightning Collection is to see a price increase to 23$ per figure, starting with Wave 7 in December

Fan reception on the headsculpts has been noted, and Hasbro are actively working on improving them

Wild Force and especially Zeo are noted by John Barber to be coming up on big anniversaries next year, and that we should expect related announcements

While no specifics are given, we are told that multiple Fan Friday reveals are to happen within the next few months

It was noted that the team on Lightning Collection is going to try and be less ‘random’ about future releases — eg, they are going to try harder to complete teams of Rangers they have already started, with In Space specifically given as an example

Hasbro Pulsecon Lightning Collection Reveals — Wave 7 officially unveiled; Target-exclusive ‘Spectrum’ packaging revealed

Following yesterday’s leak for the wave, Hasbro’s Pulsecon event has officially revealed the contents of Lightning Collection Wave 7 — as leaked, Dino Thunder Red; MMPR Green; a Z-Putty and a repack of MMPR White. The latter was not revealed at first with the rest of the wave, but was shown in the slide about the new ‘Spectrum’ packaging exclusive to Target; a series of black boxes for this wave intended to give a premium feel.

With official photos, we also have new details for the figures — particularly that Z-Putty has an effect piece for getting hit, and that Dino Thunder Red does in fact have his signature rod weapon in addition to the standard loadout of his team; implying that Yellow and Blue may follow suit.
