The Hotel has been all a-buzz with noise since the incident, Sinners coming in droves and pulling keys from the shelves. Excitement and voices, sounds from every which way coming up and down the halls as the rooms began to fill up and folk explored the place with a happy hotelier at their tail. New voices all around, though most do their best to avoid the King's own floor.

Tap tap, tap tap.

Cacophony all around. Yet, this sound is distinct from it all, quiet yet difficult to ignore once it's noticed. It's at Lucifer's window, and it's a rhythmic tapping that sounds similar to a certain woman's knock.

Tap tap. Tap tap, tap tap, Tap tap tap.

.. .. Tap tap, Tap tap, tap tap. Tap tap tap.

Like a heartbeat tapping at his tower window all the way this high in the sky.

Working with the Vees, one had to learn to take things on the chin - Vox meant every word he said, but luckily he would typically forget all about any transgressions within a matter of hours. Whatever slight Cache had committed - brought the coffee too slow, forgot to feed the shark, didn't start the promotion for the VoxPhone 28 exactly on time - would be forgotten as soon as someone else messed up.

They had worked in more toxic environments. At least then they'd been getting paid.

"When're ya gonna stop thinkin' I'm worth this much trouble, Whiskers?" When are you gonna leave me, like everyone else? When are you going to decide that I'm not enough for you? When am I going to be too much for you?

"Good things only, I hope." He chuckled softly, running his hand down Stolas's wrist to loosely interlock their fingers. Romeo raised the feathered limb to his lips, brushing a soft kiss to Stolas's knuckles.

It was a bit of a thrill, knowing that he could haunt someone's narrative, whether it was for completely innocent or less-so reasons. It might not be very humble of him to admit, but Romeo liked knowing someone was thinking about him, especially when they were someone as pretty as Stolas.

"Do I need to pay a penny to hear some of those thoughts, or can I beg a freebie?"

His skin felt like it was on fire where Husker had touched him.

Which was saying something, considering Husker hadn't even touched his skin. Even the slightest brush of a hand, however accidental, from the bartender was enough to send Angel's nerves alight, every part of him already hyper-aware, but then Husk's touch had lingered, like he knew the effect he was having on Angel and wanted to draw it out for as long as possible.

He hadn't even realized he'd been holding his breath until - after what felt like hours - Husk's fingers fell away, and Angel's starving lungs gulped in fresh oxygen. This cat made Angel feel like such a Satan-damned virgin without even trying.

"Careful, baby. Keep actin' that repressed, an' I'm gonna start calling ya Mr. Darcy." Shit, would that make him Elizabeth? Angel always felt that he was more of a Kitty.
