Foxy is kissing up Holli’s neck, slow and deliberate, before peppering kisses all over her cheek. What can he say? He’s been SO wife deprived.

Holli gives a shrill squeal that peels out from her lips at the sensation of his maw against the tender skin of her neck. She leans into Foxy, a grin breaking across her face almost immediately. Her hands reach over, grabbing for him to clutch him all the closer to her.

As his kisses move up, gingerly pressing to her cheek, Holli maneuvers herself, turning to meet his lips with her own. However, instead of a sweet kiss, Holli blows air from her lips in a raspberry against his muzzle. She giggles, nuzzling her button nose against his own cheek afterwards.

"Do you like it?" Basil asked, pushing himself off the wall to give a small half quarter turn from side to side. "I thought I'd try some sort of stowaway ship rat." He leaned back against the brick, smiling to himself as much as he was to Kitty.

"Perhaps, next time, I will disguise myself as a traveling piano repairman." He held his hand out for the cigarette, taking a drag for himself. It wasn't as satisfying as his pipe, but it would do for now.

"How have you been, my darling?" He asked softly. "I'm sorry work has kept me so far away. Traveling business. Awful stuff."

Slender shoulders come up in a shrug and she shifts herself, hips pushing up from brick so she may move over closer to him. ❛ It's certainly not your worst one. ❜ Ever the one to be indirect, Kitty loved her round about answers.

She gives the cigarette to him and watches Basil intently, sapphire eyes practically boring holes into him with the intensity of her gaze. There had been rumors, after all, of his investigations abroad and Kitty paid explicit intention whenever his name came up in conversation.

His question is met with a sigh and a soft, tired laugh. ❛ I . . . I am trying. But you know me, ❜ the dancer reaches back for her cigarette, deftly snatching it from the detective's fingers so she may bring it back to her own lips. The white mouse exhales a cloud of gray. Admittedly, she does look rather worn. Her eyes, usually bright and alert, have darkness ringing them that hasn't quite been fully covered with makeup. ❛ I'm hardy when I need to be. ❜

She taps off the ash at the end of the cigarette and offers it back towards him, clearing her throat as she focuses her gaze across the alleyway now.

❛ . . . But, it's quite hard when things that you . . . love are so far out of your reach, admittedly. ❜

Striker stays seated, however, watching the other's display with his attention rapt, fighting hard at the smirk that was tugging at the corners of his lips.

Air passes through his lips in a noisy burst of air, eyes rolling high and almost out of his moldy skull. His large arms cross over his chest and Betelgeuse raises his shoulders up, shaking his head.

He pushes himself up straight, landing on his boots with a scuffle and a hop. ❛ You need somethin' too, right? Don't need t' play coy or nothing. I can always tell when people are seekin' a lil' something-something. ❜

His eyes were on her as she got on the couch. Keeping her distance, he expected something like this so he didn’t protest or even comment on it. “That just means you found spending the evening with me far more entertaining correct?” He said with a smile as he met her gaze, getting lost in her eyes for a moment.

“Just being in your presence is a benefit my dear. Thou I hope it will be a benefit to you or rather I intended to be.” He made no attempt to close the distance between them, not yet. “Do you fancy a drink? I have quite a variety of wines and other liquors.” He didn’t look away for even a second, almost like a challenge, daring her to keep making eye contact, to stare into his crimson soul and let it resonate with hers.

“Anything to make you feel more comfortable my dear Kitty~”

Her thin brows lift as she gives a soft hum of amusement. His attention was generally less than subtle, in any sort of context. But with his inquiry about her finding time spent with him to be more worthwhile, Kitty can not but to smile wider in reply. However, she's mildly surprised at him not mentioning her position or trying to shift closer to her.

He seemed to be a man of opportunity. Maybe he was capable of restraint, after all.

❛ How can I not be entertained when you're so accommodating? ❜ She muses, keeping her eyes trained on his own.❛ Careful, though. I might think you're trying to impress me, Mister Brando. ❜ At his offer, though, she hums, tilting her head in thought. A glass in her hand would be nice. It would give her something to focus on that isn't the intensity of his stare.

❛ Wine would be nice. White, maybe? Something light so I don't outright lose against whatever else is in your liquor cabinet.❜ Or so her judgement isn't entirely clouded. . . right away.

She takes her gaze away from him, redirecting back to the room they're sat in. ❛ You have a lovely home. I'm sure some of your other guests might find it a little intimidating. ❜

ARCANE AU // EMMRICH VOLKARIN

☥▐ ░ DEATH'S SCHOLAR; ZAUN'S CORONER ( emmrich ; arcane au )

Instead of a necromancer, Emmrich is Zaun's foremost physician, anatomist, and forensic pathologist.

Formerly a respected scholar in Piltover, his work eventually became too morbid for the Academy's liking. Cadavers, post-mortem research, anatomical preservation; all the kind of things that make respectable academics clutch their pearls and distance themselves. Rather than abandon his life's work, Emmrich simply packed up and took it somewhere that valued results over appearances-- Zaun.

Now, he spends his days treating the Undercity's citizens, performing autopsies, consulting on suspicious deaths, and studying the long-term effects of Shimmer on the human body. If someone wants to know what happened to a body (or the why) he's the person they seek out for his impeccable skills in spirit communication.

Emmrich is endlessly fascinated by Shimmer from a medical perspective, but he has little patience for the way it's been weaponized and abused. To him, the problem has never been the science itself; it's the complete disregard for the people subjected to it.

His clinic is true neutral ground. He will treat anyone who walks through the door, whether they're a factory worker, an Enforcer, or a Chem-Baron. As far as Emmrich is concerned, everyone deserves competent medical care. He also is continuing his research into all things Shimmer, Death and everything in between.
