De Salses a Guardamar i de Fraga a l’Alguer: les comarques de parla catalana una a una. 58/88: el Camp de Morvedre (València, Valencian Country).
Camp de Morvedre (meaning “Morvedre’s fields”) is a coastal shire in the Valencian Country. It’s named after its capital city’s old name. Nowadays the city of Morvedre is called Sagunt.
Sagunt is famous for the Siege of Saguntum, which took place in the year 219 BC. In that moment, the two strongest empires in the Mediterranean were the rivals Rome and Carthage. The Carthaginian troops lead by Hannibal sieged the indigenous Iberian city, while the Saguntines asked Rome for help but did not receive an answer. After 8 months of siege, the indigenous city couldn’t resist more and it was invaded by the Carthaginians. Then, Hannibal promised to spare the lives of the population if they abandoned their city unarmed and taking only two garments with them. The population refused, and so the Carthaginians killed every adult.
Controlling Saguntum, Carthage held a strategic position that they could use as a base of operation with its conflict with Rome, which prompted Rome to declate war on Carthage. For this reason, the Siege of Carthage marks the beginning of the Second Punic War, one of the most relevant events in world history, which led to the fall of Carthage and the establishment of Rome as the Mediterranean superpower. If nowadays languages like Catalan, Spanish and Galician-Portuguese exist, it’s because Rome won the Second Punic War.
The Saguntines’ refusal to accept Carthage’s orders became a symbol of resistance against invasion, and in the 19th century it became one of the most iconic moments of the history of the Iberian peninsula.
Nowadays, you can visit the ruins of the ancient Saguntum. You can see some remains of the indigenous Ancient Iberian city that fought Carthage, but Sagunt continued to be an important city and a strategic location, so you can also visit the ruins of the Roman city, a castle built by the Goths and the Arabs and rebuilt during the Napoleonic war. Nearby towns also have a rich historical heritage, as you can see in the photos above.

5 Ships I love to start 2021 well
Hirosei (Barakamon) : It’s not canon but it could be and this will not change a lot.
What I love to read about them : is cute and akward date between two awkward boys and also domestic fluff. A lot of domestic fluff. They form a really nice family with Naru and I want to see them grown up and ages up together.
Main headcanon : Hiro will come back to the island to open a restaurant and that his boyfriend will do the decoration.
Eruri (SNK) : Not canon but could be as well.
Enemies to friends to lover ❤
What I love to read about them : angst, learning to trust each other, a lot of UA because I want happy ending and it’s quite hard to find good fic who end well for them in the main World.
Main headcanon : They had sex before admitting they had feelings for each other.
HanYe (The King’s avatar) : More canon in the donghua than the novel ;)
Rivals and friends to lover
What I love to read about them : either crack where poor Han has to see his beloved being flirted by almost all the other glory player. I love also to read slow burn (with or without change in the canon), discovering little by litlle that they had feelings for each other
Main headcanon : they are a bit confused about why fan are so sure they hate each other
Shanks/Baggy (One Piece) : ;)
Childhood friends to rivals to lover
What I love to read about them : When they meet up after Marineford or by chance after it in the New world. Also ficlets about their life with the Roger pirate. I also love to see them deny that they have any feelings for the other (especially Buggy) and losing their mind when the other is in danger.
Main headcanon : they had their first kiss with the other
Scipio Africanus/Hannibal Barca (Classical history rpf, ad astra)
Enemies to lover
What I love to read about them : after the punic war and the defeart of Carthage, when they find each other and realize how similar they are, how well they goes together and just end up betraying everything for the other
Main headcanon : They didn’t die when the history said they died, they just run away together
Rome is so amazing because they lost like 10% of their adult Male population (a massive amount) in one battle and then they a) didn't give up and b) later beat carthage
it never ends
